Meet baby Zoey!!  Zoey is the adorable daughter of David and Amie.  What made this shoot so awesome, besides the fact that I got to hang out with some really cool people, is that Amie is the art director for PAWS Chicago, which means she made my job easy!  Before the shoot, Amie sent me some ideas for shots and during the shoot had a "shoot list" organized according to outfits and props!  Like I said, awesome.  She was so well organized that we got a ton of different looks in a relativley short amount of time.

First off, check out how amazing this nursery is.  Amie free-handed the trees on the wall!!

Fantastic, right??  Well check this out, one of Amie and David's friends saw a picture of the nursery Amie painted and made them a quilt that showed up as a gift to them completely unexpected.  It was so well done that we used it as a backdrop for some of the photos!

I just had to get a shot of how well organized and coordinated they are ;)

Zoey was an excellent model the entire length of the shoot. Here she is showing off her ballerina look.  

Zoey has a great smile, and she wasn't afraid to show it.  This, of course, comes from two wonderful parents who show their unconditional love to their little girl.

Zoey already has a vast collection of books (enough to make my wife jealous) and was more than happy to show me how much she likes them.   

The other star of this family is Wendell, their dog.  He is wonderful with Zoey and kept busy with one of the toys I brought for him.  What a great looking family, no?

Although the Tribune might be a bit advanced for Zoey, she took the opportunity to help Dad with some reading :)

Here's another shot where Amie, David, and Zoey make my job easy.  No coaching here on my part, this shot just naturally came together.

Zoey got hungry during our shoot, so we turned that into some "a day in the life" type photos. 

Although I'm a fan of using backdrops and studio lighting, we did some nice candid and formal shots incorporating their home along with the gorgeous natural light they have coming in from their huge windows.  

It's definitely difficult to choose favorites from this shoot, but we'll close this blog with the sneak peak I gave them shortly after our session.  I really liked the blue walls they have in their place and thought Zoey's pink dress tied things together in this one.

I would like to thank David, Amie, Zoey, and Wendell for inviting me into their home and allowing me the honor of photographing their wonderful family!  I had a terrific time and hope we produced some images that they can cherish for years to come!!
