Although my main focus (haha) as a photographer is pets, I have been asked to provide other types of photography as well.  Recently, one of my good friends Janny asked if I would be willing to take some maternity photos of her so she could have some nice images documenting her pregnancy.  She and her husband Colin also have a dog (Hank), so I knew we would be able to get some photos including him as well.  I felt up to the challenge and thought it would be fun, so I immediately started researching maternity photography to get some ideas of how most people go about these types of shoots.  

It was actually pretty difficult to find ideas for photos that didn't include a half-naked woman with fabric draped across her body.  Not saying that there is anything wrong with that, I just knew it wasn't Janny and Colin's style.  We eventually came up with some fun ideas and got together for a shoot.  It was a really laid-back session and I think we created some nice images that work well with both Janny's and Colin's personalities.

I really hope for the kid's sake that he or she doesn't become a Packers fan...or a White Sox fan for that matter.

Janny was an ice cream fanatic to begin with, so being pregnant gave her all the more reason to have the freezer fully stocked of the stuff.  This was probably the first shot we discussed, but the funny part is that we almost forgot to do it!  I was literally packing my gear when she exclaimed, "the ice cream shot!"  

Although I really enjoyed all the shots we got throughout the shoot, I think this last one is my personal favorite!
