Just before the end of 2012, I was lucky enough to have a photo shoot with my new pal Ivy!  Ivy was adopted from PAWS Chicago earlier in the year and has been happily living with her new mom and dad, Jana and Milan.

Shortly after I greeted Ivy, she went right to town gnawing on one of her favorite chew toys.  This gave me an opportunity to get my camera together and, more importantly, get her comfortable with having me around.  As you can see, she had no problem showing me how well she could do some work on her toy :)

She probably would have sat there the entire time I visited, completely content with her toy, but we needed to get her to vogue a bit more and this is one of the other shots I got.

After I snuck her toy away from her, she showed me one of her favorite spots to hang out in the house, on the couch by the window.

Don't let her fool you, she is FULL of energy and was more than willing to show it!  We played a little treat game in the hallway and got some fantastic shots.  This is one of my favorites.

Although Ivy has a lot of energy, she also knows her commands.  Here is a great example of her "sit."

Jana and Milan have a cool staircase in their place, so I thought it would be fun to set up a shot there.  Although this looks like a quick photo that I snapped, it actually took a couple properly positioned flashes, a treat handler (Jana), and some luck to get this.  I think that's why I like this one so much, because it looks so natural.

I always LOVE to see brightly colored furniture and fun patterns in clients' homes.  The instant I saw this chair and that pillow, I knew we had to get a shot on it.  But I didn't know Ivy was going to rock it this hard!!

"What does your pet do?" This is a question I try to convey through a session.  Ivy is a pretty springy dog, so we wanted to show what kind of "hops" she had.  She could definitely get some nice air.

When I first spoke with Jana about the session, she had mentioned liking some of the photos on my website with different colored backgrounds.  So I basically brought all the current colors I had and swapped them out to get some different looks for Ivy. She, of course, looked fabulous against all the colors!

What an amazing time I had hanging out with Ivy!!  I'd like to thank Jana and Milan for inviting me into their homes to photograph their wonderful dog, Ivy.  I really had a blast - thanks so much!!
